Forever Tango Update

At the request of members and our previous speaker from the Black Tie Dance Studio I am posting additional information regarding the upcoming Forever Tango show at the State Theatre.

FOREVER TANGO

Direct from a powerful Broadway revival, Luis Bravo’s acclaimed dance spectacular features an all-Argentine cast of 12 world-class dancers, 11 on-stage Argentine National Symphony musicians, and a vocalist. Breaking box office records nationwide, in Europe, and in Canada, the show caused critics to agree with the New York Times: “A must-see!” The Associated Press christened Forever Tango “The most theatrical show on Broadway!” The show has run or toured non-stop for ten years.
Forever Tango tells the story of the birth of the tango in the 19th century brothels and bordellos of Buenos Aires. “The tango is the music of the emigrant, someone who is always leaving and never finds home,” says Luis Bravo, the Argentine-born creator of Forever Tango.

Tuesday March 4th Meeting

At today's meeting we had Jamie Steinemann and Allan R Scott from the Firelands Symphony Orchestra. The symphony is celebrating its 25th year! The symphony also has a School of Arts here in Sandusky benefiting children of all ages featuring a Kindermusik program designed for newborns to 7 years old, Creative kids for Ages 3 to 11 and Charles Mayer Origami and drawing for ages 10 and older. Its great to see our community supporting the arts. Allan Scott spoke about the economic impact of the arts on a community and added several funny stories about his personal experiences in Philadelphia and Montana with the Helena Symphony. The Spring Awakenings concert is this weekend March 8th at the State Theatre with You You Zhang, a Chinese piano soloist and conducted by Maestro Scott. To the left is the Symphony flyer with other events. For more information concerning these programs call the State Theatre or The Firelands Symphony Orchestra School of the Arts.

Currently we are promoting our 6th annual golf outing on May 28th. I hope each of our members is out in the community getting interested individuals involved.

Next week is our program from our very own Saint Marys Central Catholic Key Club. Hope to see everyone there.
