Veggie U

Lauren Berlekamp was our speaker on Tuesday December 2nd. She spoke about VeggieU. Veggie U is a non profit located at the Culinary Vegetable Institute in Milan, Oh. The program is designed to teach 4th graders the importance of diet and nutrition by showing them how to plant, grow, harvesting plants then eating what they have grown. It is currently being used in over 1400 classrooms and 24 states. Veggie U wants to promote the well being of children by helping them make wise food choices by teaching them hands on about agriculture. More information is available at http://www.veggieu.org/.
